Frequently asked questions - Tutor/Instructor

Would GRADEKING charge a fee for my teaching application? How does the instructor application process work?

Applying to teach at GRADEKING is free.

After GRADEKING receives the instructor application or interest for teaching, the details will be reviewed for learner safety. If additional details are required, GRADEKING will contact the applicant. Once application is approved, GRADEKING will contact the instructor, advise next steps, host instructor profile and assign tailored courses on the platform. There are no fees for hosting or marketing your profile/courses. A commission is charged only when learners purchase your course, course bundles or subscriptions.

How does the commission structure at GRADEKING work?

The commission structure is being worked on and will be discussed during the registration process. The commission structure will be competitive. The exact rate depends on the instructor's experience, the assigned course, and how long they have taught on GRADEKING. Instructors do not get paid for free trial lesson.

It is to be noted that a significant portion of our commission goes toward operations, quality tools, IT services, support, legal, marketing, and attracting learners globally. We invest heavily in creating an excellent e-learning platform to ensure every learner receives quality teaching that is highly engaging. We also provide free training for all instructors on the learning platform, making it easy to design courses and sessions so you can focus on teaching your students

What is the likelihood of my application getting approved?

Limited instructor spots are available. Once the spots are filled, your application would be kept in the pool for future consideration. At any stage, if you would like us to withdraw your application or Expression of Interest, please send us a request via email and your application or Expression of Interest will be removed from the system.

How and when would instructors receive payout?

Instructors would receive payouts monthly to the nominated bank account. We would also consider payouts on demand if amount balance is AUD$200.

Why are instructors considered from some countries and not all for the launch?

We are only considering instructors from specific countries at this stage. Our business is content driven whereby tutors would be required to structure and design their course to deliver world-class content and sessions. We would like to provide an engaging and enhancing learning experience to every learner as per their study requirements. Keeping operational efficiency and quality of learning service in mind, we do not want this platform to be crowded with tutors like another tutoring marketplace.

Rest assured, we are planning to scale up to other countries and will be accepting teachers in a staged manner. If you are a tutor from a country not listed and have the passions to teach, please drop us a note about yourself and the courses you can bring in the table. We are open to feedback and suggestions.

Can I express interest to teach both academic and professional courses?

Yes, instructors are encouraged to teach both Academic and Professional skill development course (Technical, Non-Technical).

There is no limit on the number of the courses you can teach. However, please note that whatever the course you offer to teach, progress isn’t possible without time and practice. Offering a free trial lesson helps learner to have a better understanding of yourself, course outline and study plan.

Remember, the academic course needs to be tailored as per country curriculum. E.g. Australian resident students would need to be taught English/Mathematics/Science as per Australian School Curriculum. The courses applicable for every country would be categorised accordingly, for learner to easily search and enrol to the course.

If my application is approved, would I be an employee or contractor of GRADEKING?

No. Instructors are considered 'freelancers' who are not under an employment contract with GRADEKING. It is responsibility of the instructors to check their earnings and pay applicable income taxes to the government.

Am I allowed to set my own price for a course?

Yes, Tutors can set their own price/rate for the course. However, it is recommended to set the course price as per country market conditions. Do offer discounts wherever possible.
Remember, commissions will be charged as per GRADEKING's commission model.

Am I allowed to use AI for customising courses?

Yes, tutors can take AI assistance for designing course. However, do note that usage of AI on our platform is limited and is dependant on AI prompts available for the month.

I have more questions? How can I ask?
